1. No Missing quizzes, Please!

Make sure that you don’t have any missing quizzes! These quizzes are not only for grading, they are also how I will count your attendance. If you do not submit the quizzes you will be marked absent from the class for the week of the lesson in which the quiz was given. But, be careful! If you submit the quiz without actually answering any questions your grade will be 0/10. To get a passing grade in this class, you have to keep your average quiz score above 6. However, also remember that I will drop the two lowest quiz scores.

レッスン＃8には、新しいい教材はありません。その代わり、生徒さんは以下を行ってください。

１．今までのクイズは全部提出していますか？

今までのクイズは全部提出していますか？もし、提出していないクイズがあれば、提出してください。これらのクイズは成績を調べるだけでなく、生徒さんのクラスへの出席(欠席)の記録となります。
つまり、クイズを提出していれば、クラスには出席していたことになり、クイズを提出していない場合、クラスには欠席したことになります。しかし、何も回答しないでクイズを提出すると、成績は０点となります。クラスの単位をもらうには、クイズの成績が平均で6以上なければなりません。（ただし、クイズの成績で一番低い2回のクイズの成績は平均の計算には含まれません。）

2. Did you miss part or all of a lesson?

I know how busy students are and in normal times students are sometimes absent from class. That is a shame because you miss everything in class on that day. But in this class you don’t need to miss anything! This is the great advantage of asynchronous online classes! My classes are available for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You never have to miss a class. This week is your chance to catch up on any class you might have missed. Please do so.

２．レッスンはすべて受講しましたか？

レッスンはすべて受講しましたか？普段の場合だと、生徒さんは忙しい時、クラスをやむを得ず欠席する必要があるかもしれませんが、しかし、現在のオンライン授業は、24時間、アクセスすることができます。今週こそ、受講できなかったクラスを受講するチャンスです。

3. Review

The word “review” actually means “re” = again , “View” = look. So it means “to look again”. Even if you have already done all the lessons you can go back and “look again”. You can watch the film excerpts to see the movies we are studying, or you can watch my lectures again, or you can read the lecture transcripts again.

３．復習

Reviewとは “Re”= again　そして”View”=look　という意味です。生徒さんも、いままでのレッスンで、勉強している映画のExcerptを見たり、私のレクチャーを見たり（読んだり）すれば、さらに勉強の効果が上がるでしょう

4. Notes:

Good students take notes during lectures and about what they have read. This does not mean you write everything down; it means you write down the things you think are important for you to know. For example, you really should know the names of the important characters in each movie we study. Notes are extremely useful when you take quizzes because my quizzes ask questions about exactly the kinds of things you should be taking notes on.

４．注意：

注意：　優秀な生徒さんは、授業中にノートを取り、学習内容をまとめます。このことは、すべてのことを書き留めるのではなく、「知っておくべきこと」を書き留めておくのです。たとえば、勉強している映画の主人公や主要人物については、名前を知っておく必要があるでしょう。このようなノートは、クイズを受ける上で特に有効であり役に立ちます。なぜなら、私のクイズは、生徒さんに覚えておいてほしいことを質問するからです。

5. If you have not already done so, please change your name to romaji and kanji in Google Classroom.

Put your family name first and your given name second, e.g., Tanaka Taro followed by the kanji characters.

The deadline for making these changes was May 29th! But I am giving those who didn’t meet the deadline one last chance. If you have not made these changes by next week (i.e., Lesson 9) I will subtract 10% from your grade.

５．まだ名前をローマ字と漢字にしていない生徒さんへ：

まだ名前をローマ字と漢字にしていない生徒さんへ：
名前に関して、Gmail（Google Classroom）の設定で、ローマ字と漢字にしてください。（例：Tanaka Taro 田中太郎）

名前の変更については、5月29日までに行うよう依頼しましたが、まだ、変更していない生徒さんが何名かいます。来週までに（Lesson 9）に名前がローマ字と漢字になっていないと、成績の10%を差し引きます。

変更について不明な点があれば、私に連絡してください。
